Floor Sentry: Un producto revolucionario para la protección de suelos de madera.

Dispositivo Floor Sentry en la parte inferior de una tabla de madera

The Floor Sentry manual recommends one device for every 1,000 square feet (92 square meters) of flooring, at least one on each level, and one for each radiant heating zone.

You’ve installed high-end custom flooring for a customer. What happens if the floor starts to cup because of moisture?

The customer might turn to you and expect you to pay to fix it, assuming the problem was caused by the installation.

But what if you could give the customer the tools to protect the floor before a problem ever happens?

Eso es posible con Floor Sentry.®. Here’s how it works, and how one flooring business has come to rely on it for high-end projects.

Cómo Floor Sentry protege su arduo trabajo

Floor Sentry is a small temperature and humidity data logger installed on the underside of a floor plank. It lets your customers keep track of the temperature and relative humidity in and under their floor, and it alerts them in the Wagner Sentry® app when conditions go outside the range they’ve set.

That makes them more aware of changes in their home’s conditions that could affect the floor.

Wood naturally gains and loses moisture as the relative humidity around it changes, so if a home goes through a major shift in temperature and humidity, the floor will follow. Cupping or warping can be the result.

Floor Sentry helps guard against that by keeping homeowners aware of conditions so they can correct them. It also creates a record of those conditions, so if a problem does occur, you and your customer can see whether the home’s conditions went out of range.

Could it really make a difference? Lucas Huffaker of Huffaker Flooring thinks so. Here’s his experience with Floor Sentry.

Por qué Floor Sentry no es una opción negociable para Huffaker Flooring

Conozca Floor Sentry, el registrador de datos integrado para suelos de madera.
Lucas Huffaker is a flooring contractor with Huffaker Flooring in Boise, Idaho. He has used the Orión® Medidor de humedad de madera 950 for many years to make sure his flooring is ready for installation, and he’s taken his work a step further with Floor Sentry. At the time of this 2024 article, he had installed it in all of his clients’ floors over the past year.

For his business, a flooring data logger is a big deal. He calls it “a great insurance policy,” since he installs high-end floors that sometimes cost $50,000 or more. Including one, two, or three Floor Sentry devices barely dents the total cost of a project, and it gives him added assurance that the floors are protected.

En sus palabras, Floor Sentry es “una excelente manera de proteger esa inversión”.

He also likes how easy Floor Sentry is to use. The Wagner Sentry app syncs with the Floor Sentry device so customers can check conditions from a smartphone, and they get alerts if temperature or humidity goes out of range so they can take corrective action.

Y añade: “Es un sistema que funciona muy bien con la forma en que trabajamos con los suelos, y me gusta poder tener ese control y también la capacidad de seguimiento después [de la instalación]”.

Empodere a sus clientes con Floor Sentry

When your customers make a big investment in a floor, Floor Sentry gives them, and you, peace of mind that the floor is being watched for moisture problems.

Floor Sentry turns their floor into a smart floor, so you can confidently hand its care over to them. Like Lucas Huffaker, you’ll protect your work and your reputation.
